To our members who haven't, feel free to say hi (and a thing or two about yourself and where you are on your journey to being a programming God) here.

Hi, I'm TJ Floyd! I'm the first one to post on this topic, so maybe I can get aquainted with everyone.. So, I'm a college sophmore at UAB majoring in Psychology/ Behavioral Biology.. I'm interested in programming for the scientific applications of it. Through programming, we can simulate neural processes, and discover more about how our brains function and improve our cognitive and behavioral abilities. It's cool meeting you guys, and I look forward to many fun and interesting discussions!

Hello there tjfloyduab and welcome to Programming for N00bs. That is awesome that you're majoring in Physchology and Behavioral Biology. What programming languages do you use the most and are there any languages that you are interested in learning? This will help us figure out more of what our members are interested in so we can better serve you in your learning experience.
Again welcome to Programming for N00bs and I hope you enjoy your time here.

That's awesome that you're using what you're learning to make applications in Bioinformatics! Python is a pretty popular language from what I've seen. When I get some time I'm going to make some Java tutorials so keep an eye on that subforum.
